YO Webinar: Simplifying Specialty Lens Fitting - Keratoconus, Grafts & High Rx

Looking to enhance your specialty contact lens fitting skills? Need a refresher on front surface toric, back surface toric, and bitoric lenses? Or keen to exchange tips and troubleshoot complex fits with fellow optometrists?

Join us for an interactive case-based session with Dr Margaret Lam focusing on specialty contact lenses! This online webinar will cover strategies for fitting and troubleshooting lenses for keratoconus, grafted corneas, high refractive errors and significant astigmatism.

Learning Objectives

Master Rigid Contact Lens Fitting for Keratoconus, Grafted Corneas and Specialty Contact Lens Fitting

  • 1. Understand the indications and optical considerations when fitting RGP lenses for keratoconus, post-keratoplasty and which conditions that rigid lenses can be helpful.
  • 2. Identify appropriate lens designs and fitting strategies to optimise comfort and visual outcomes.
  • 3. Recognise potential complications and implement management strategies to ensure graft and ocular health.

Apply RGP Lenses for High Prescription Patients

  • 4. Determine indications for RGP lens use in cases of high refractive errors, including significant astigmatism.
  • 5. Compare and contrast lens designs, such as front surface toric, back surface toric, and bitoric lenses, to address complex prescriptions.
  • 6. Utilize diagnostic tools and fitting techniques to achieve optimal lens performance and patient satisfaction.

Enhance Clinical Decision-Making Through Case Studies and Troubleshooting

  • 7. Analyse diverse clinical scenarios to identify common fitting challenges and their solutions.
  • 8. Develop problem-solving skills to manage complications and improve patient outcomes.
  • 9. Foster collaborative learning by engaging in group discussions and reflective practice.
