We are here to bring you another webinar! This time we are very fortunate to have two medical retina specialists presenting. We have Dr James Wong and Dr Hemal Mehta from Strathfield Retina. This will be an interactive webinar on Interesting Retina Cases. Register here now!

Learning Objectives:

  • To aid optometrists in differentiation between macular conditions.
  • To educate attendees on OCT changes associated with AMD
  • To assist optometrists in identifying clinical features which would prompt referral to a medical retinal ophthalmologist

Dr Wong is a medical retina specialist with expertise in AMD, diabetic retinopathy and central serous retinopathy. Graduating from the University of Sydney Medical School, he completed his ophthalmology specialist training at Sydney Eye Hospital. He has undertaken international Fellowships, including Medical Retina and Uveitis Fellowships at Moorfields Eye Hospital. Dr Wong was awarded a Master of Medicine by the University of Sydney for laboratory research into AMD. He is a clinical lecturer at the University of Sydney and is active in scientific and clinical research in the areas of retinal and macular disorders. Dr Mehta is an expert in the fields of medical retina and cataract surgery with extensive experience in general adult ophthalmology. He is highly experienced in the diagnosis and management of AMD, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal vein occlusions. After graduating from Cambridge University, Dr Mehta carried out his clinical training at University College London. He completed 7 years of training in the London School of Ophthalmology with 3 years at Moorfields Eye Hospital. He completed a medical retina fellowship at Sydney Eye Hospital. Dr Mehta is at the forefront of retinal research globally and has academic affiliations with University College London and Sydney University. To see more of Dr Mehta's biography, please click here
